Elephant’s Top 11 Mindful Instagrammers to Follow.

Top Eleven Famous or not-famous but worthwhile feeds sharing worthwhile stuff.

Who’s your favorite account or human to follow on Instagram, who is famous or not-at-all famous and deserves more fans via Elephant readers? Share your suggestions, big or small, in comments.

My list’s criteria isn’t about big or small—you’ll see some of both—but rather it’s about folks who aren’t self-obsessed, with feeds full of photos of themselves…and instead are devoted to sharing a rich mix of life-is-beautiful and good causes that deserve attention and awareness.

I’ll share one Insta via each, with why I recommend ’em. Follow away! Let’s make Instagram about caring, not merely selfies (which aren’t all bad, we just want some balance).

We train in how to use social media, instead of merely being used by it, in Elephant Academy. Join!

You can follow Elephant accounts here: @waylonlewis, @walkthetalkshow, @ecofolks, and the big one, @elephantjournal. We work hard to share inspiration, fun, awareness, and good causes that sometimes get very little love.

Okay, let’s get to it! Elephant’s top 11 Favorite Accounts to follow dans l’Instagramland:

Okay this lady is hilarious, sending up ridiculous models and ridiculous ideas of beauty in the funnest possible way, instead of being an aggressive jerkface about it. Click to follow.

I love this lady’s art. Get yerself one for your pooch.

She shares food traditions with care and love and a beautiful eye without being all pretentious about it. Peggy! She deserves 3 million followers, but has 3,000.

It’s like traveling to Paris for free and suddenly being more intellectual and smoking without the cancer and falling in love and paying for it.

À bout de souffle

This is what I’m talking about! Gorgeous powerful important:  “We have such a wonderful team. We are integrating a mindful life perspective and innovation into humanitarian work.”

The OG! A powerful force for, well, everything. Lots of photos of her sweet self of course, but raw honesty, self-awareness, humor, and activism in the mix.

Beautiful, and moving, and important, and beautiful:

These brothers have started a movement, or two—and created a mindful living in the process. What Elephant Academy is all about.

What fame should be all about—using it to leverage our greater good, instead of being self-obsessed.

Inspiring, and yummy, and vegan. Low-impact farming and animal rehabilitation sanctuary at the foothills of the Himalayas. Thanks to my Academy colleague Sukriti, I’ve enjoyed their nut butter, nomnom!

The whole feed is beautiful, important, and inspiring, and real. This:
